Frederick City Church celebrates one year of ministry.

Inauguration Sunday

Pastor Kwame & Jackie Marfo installed to lead the church forward.

Frederick City Church was planted by Pastor Yaw and Lady Portia Osei-Owusu, who also lead Capital City Church in Washington, DC. Passionate about seeing young people know Jesus, they felt called to raise up a new congregation in Frederick, Maryland, scripture-driven and Holy Spirit-led rather than built around tradition, buildings, budgets, or personalities.

The church gathered for the first time on Launch Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Frederick High School, and has met there every week since. In its first year, Frederick City Church welcomed new believers through baptism, grew its weekly rhythms of prayer and Bible study, and became a home for young families, singles, newlyweds, and anyone looking for a place to belong.

Frederick City Church is a district assembly of The Church of Pentecost U.S.A., Inc., and continues to grow as a community centered on knowing Jesus, finding community, and living purposefully in excellence.

Where We Come From

Rooted in a Global Church

Frederick City Church is part of The Church of Pentecost, a movement that began in Ghana in the 1920s under Peter Anim and was formally established in 1953 under James McKeown. Today it spans more than 100 countries. We build relationally, and we're structured biblically.
